Monica and Matthew’s wedding was on the most beautiful February afternoon in Tampa and St. Pete. They got ready at The Birchwwood in St. Pete. One of my favorite details of their day was that Monica wore a family heirloom, her mother’s wedding dress also worn by several women in her family. She surprised Matt by slipping into a new dress to dance in for the remainder of the night.
Monica decided on a first look with her dad then Matthew. They also brought in their adorable dog for some portraits. It was helpful to have almost all of the portraits taken with the entire wedding party and immediate family before the ceremony.
They had a beautiful ceremony at Academy of the Holy Names where Monica attended school. If you attended school there you can have your ceremony in the chapel and I love the sentiment of that.
Their cocktail hour was on The Birchwood’s rooftop, The Canopy and the weather was absolutely perfect. Guests were welcomed downstairs for the reception where they found their seating assignment on a hand written thank you note.
Monica and Matthew wanted an elegent and classic black tie wedding reception and the ballroom at The Birchwood was the perfect location. Their colors were a classic black and white with blush accents. I love the way they incorporated their dog, Harper into their decor too.
For entertainment they chose Phase 5 band. They are talented and definitely started the party. Their dance floor was packed and the guests had a great time celebrating Monica and Matt. At the end of the night, they chose to do a last dance and guests threw rose petals and toy airplanes (Matt is a pilot) at them while they danced. It was a sweet way to end the night.
Monica and Matt, you were such a gracious and kind couple and I am thankful I got to work with you. I wish you all the best!
